Khulna
University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) is one of the
technological universities in Bangladesh. It was established
as Khulna Engineering College in 1974, it was later converted
to a degree awarding autonomous institution called Bangladesh
Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna in 1986. With a view to
providing more opportunity and autonomy for the improvement
in the quality of higher education and research in engineering
and technology, the Institute was upgraded and renamed as Khulna
University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in 2003. Its
Campus extends over an area of 101 acres. Tastefully laid out
with beautiful plantation and with buildings of various nature
and stature, clean and wide roads - the campus presents a spectacle
of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. KUET combines
traditional focus on excellent teaching and research with a
desire to seek new ways of developing standardized education
and intellectuals. Its mission is to flourish application of
engineering knowledge through teaching, research and artistry.
Its vision is to be perceived and acknowledged as the outstanding
public university to the nation. KUET strives to be a community
of scholars and a center for learning & developing knowledge-based
capabilities which will promote academic achievements and research
excellence. With such mission & vision it is advancing to
be a leading engineering university that educates students to

ABOUT
BANGLADESH |
Located
in the North-Eastern part of South Asia - Bangladesh is a land
of enormous beauty, hundreds of serpentine rivers, surrounded
by ever green hills, luxuriant tropical rain forests, beautiful
cascades of green tea-gardens and Sundarban-world’s largest
mangrove forest preserved as world heritage. The majestic Himalayas
stand some distance to the north while in the south lies the Bay
of Bengal. It has a tropical monsoon type climate, with a hot
and rainy summer and a pronounced dry season in the cooler months.
In December the temperature ranges from 13.7 degrees to 26.1 degrees
celsius which is the best time to visit. People of Bangladesh
are generous and hospitable by nature and like to live in peace.
Bangladesh has a rich, diverse culture, its deep-rooted heritage
is thoroughly reflected in its architecture, multifaceted folks
like tales, myths, terracota, legends, riddles etc., dance, music
and clothing. The three primary religions of Bangladesh (Islam,
Hinduism & Buddhism) have a great influence on its culture
and history. Its greatest icons are the world renowned poets Kazi
Nazrul Islam and Michael Modhusudon Dutt. Moreover, its the birth
place of micro-credit which is now being cultured in most of the
world. Last but not the least both Dr. Younus and Grameen Bank
receiving the Nobel Prize for Peach in 2006 are from Bangladesh.

ABOUT
KHULNA |
Gateway
to the Sundarban and the sea-port Mongla - Khulna is the third
biggest industrial city and divisional headquarter in Bangladesh.
It is located in the southern part of Bangladesh, on a natural
levee of the Rupsha and Bhairab rivers and has a history of about
hundred years. During early days it had a shipping link with Calcutta.
It was declared a municipality in 1884, became a railway link
in 1985, district headquarter in 1961 and city corporation in
1984. It is famous for shrimp processing and jute-mills. Its main
attractions are Sundarban and Mongla sea-port. By the grace of
history and nature, it is flourished with many site-seeing places
like Katka Beach, Hiron Point, Karamjol, Sixty domes mosque at
Bagherhat, Shagordhari at Jessore, Shilaidoho Thakur Bari etc..
People of diverse religions, their simplicity, culture & heritage
attract visitors from home and abroad. It is the place of delicious
and exceptional sea-fish and foods. It is connected to Dhaka (Capital
of Bangladesh) by road and boat and by air via Jessore.
