Site Description:

The Sundarbans is the world's largest mangrove forest in the world and natural habitat of Royal Bengal Tiger. It is the most popular tourist site in Bangladesh. The Sundarbans features a complex network of tidal waterways, mudflats and small islands of salt-tolerant mangrove forests. The area is known for its wide range of fauna, with the Royal Bengal tiger being the most famous, but also including many birds, spotted deer, crocodiles and snakes. Natural beauty, wildlife and river cruise are attractions of this tour.

 

Here, it is noted that the Sundarbans is one of the competitors for the New7Wonders of Nature of the world.

Ragistration fees (including forest office tax) and requirements:
1. For Bangladeshi participants: BDT 2500 per person
2. For Foreign participants : USD 60*  per person
3. For foreign kids (below 10 years old): USD 40 * per person
4. For Bangladeshi kids (below 10 years old): 1500 BDT per person
 

* First six pages of the passport (photocopy or scanned copy) are required to submit to get permission from District Forest Office (DFO).

Registration fees will cover the followings:
  • Breakfast

  • Lunch

  • Afternoon Snacks & Tea

  • Dinner

  • Vessel Charge

  • Govt. tax

Facilities provided during site seeing:
 
  • Life Jacket

  • Security Gaurd (supplied by DFO khulna)

  • A small blanket will be provided for each foreigner.

Things to carry:  
  • Towel

  • Sun hats/Sunshades

  • Sun burn lotion

  • Mosquito repellent

  • Board Games

  • Swimming gear

  • Binocular

  • Camera 

  • Wind breaker

  • Reading materials

  • Bird book for the bird watchers

  • Raincoat or umbrella (Usually, in the December the weather is nice to travel. However, in case of unfortunate rain, you may need this item)

  • Clothing, preferably of dark in color (i.e. dark green/ gray green). Torch

  • Warm cloths in winter (sometime it gets very cold).

  • Walking shoes with laces, which wont come off easily (there might be muddy patches in some parts of the jungle activity)

  • Hard drinks of your own if needed.

  • Avoid taking things, which are bright and luminous in color.

Other information:
 
The tour will start at 9:30 PM on 27th December (Saturday) from KUET Campus and we will back to Khulna on 28th December (Sunday) after Dinner.
